Noise Filter is an iMovie plug-in that takes a page out of elementary disturbance reduction school. But who says that elementary principles don't go? We birth developed this plug after an email from Kevin Killion, who pointed us to a elementary way astronomers reduce desktop disturbance in their photographs: they digitally meld, and then fair multiple pictures of the same piece of the sky. Of row, with moving media the results can be less than stellar (pun intented). We establish out that it does go, especially if you birth a curtail filmed under high-gain, low-light conditions. Our plug works by combining the end n (user configurable from 1 to 10) frames, and averaging them. Therefore, if you birth any fast-moving objects in the curtail, they will march ghost trails. Depending on their speed, these trails will be more or less pronounced. Very fast objects (i.e those that appear in just one or two frames) will disappear altogether (which is, of row, the definition of disturbance reduction).
